Title: Did I do something wrong?
Post by: dgordon86 on March 20, 2008, 11:48:20 am
Ok, heres the deal -

I live on Cape Cod, it's a peninsula off eastern MA. There is very rarely anyone that advertise they have arcade machines, none the less any interest in them. Heck, I posted a cl ad asking if theres anyone addicted arcade games like myself. No response.

So last night I post another ad on craigslist asking to purchase any game working/non.
What happens, I wake up this morning and I find the ad's been taken down :banghead:

this is what I posted: \

I'm looking for locals (cape cod) who own and are looking to sell their arcade machines.
doesn't have to be dedicated, or in working order.
I'm mainly interested in 80's titles, but would consider early to mid 90's
I will come to your location.
Willing to negotiate.

Now I'm younger than you guys (21) and maybe I don't know better, but did I do something wrong? Or is this the kinda dog-eat-dog world we live in?  (Seriously though, did I violate some rule?) I posted in Electronics/Wanted.

At least I did get one person offering me a asteroids machine in that short period :-D
I'll be calling them later this evening.

Yes, it is.  CL in this area is full of arcade collectors that will report any competitor as a violation, knowing that CL will just take the ad down rather than investigate it.  It happens all the time here.  Lots of guys trolling to rip folks off in this circle, too, likely the same ones.

Last time I had a room for rent my ads would vanish within hours of posting them. Regardless of content. I eventually had to resort to naming the ad "Quick, read this before it is gone".

Apparently there are a lot of people trying to rent one room in their house for their entire mortgage total or something that just constantly flag rooms listed at cheaper prices.
