Title: MameWAH - Is there a way to remove option choices?
Post by: Ginsu Victim on March 20, 2008, 10:44:04 am
Say I don't want people messing with certain choices in the options menu, is there a way to remove options? Like EXIT or Game list options?

I only want people to be able to change systems and that's it.

I know this isn't exactly what you are asking (my coworker complains that I do this, maybe hes right...) but as an alternative you could unbind the option menu for general use, and just bind keys (or sticks as I do it) to cycle through different systems.

Open up config\mamewah.cfg in notepad, that where all the keybinds are assigned.

Just remove the MENU_SHOW keybind, or maybe put one on for MENU_LOCK that isnt mapped to your board? I havent tried that option, not sure what it does.

The NEXT_PLATFORM and PREVIOUS_PLATFORM fields are there to scroll through, Im not sure what the SELECT_PLATFORM key does, so that may do exactly what you were asking for at the start, check it out!

I'm at work, or else I'd have just busted that open and found out myself.
I guess I never noticed those in there before. I've had plenty of fun changing the mappings to better suit my setup, but just somehow missed that.
Thanks for the advice!
