I was wondering if anyone has found a retail store where they have the .187 female quick connectors for a resonable price? I thinking about walmart but they didnt have anything really. all they carried was a pack of mixed connectors for like 7.00 and out of that there was only like 6 or 7 of the .187 quick connects, so thats no good.
Only other place i could think of was RADIO SHACK. Anyone have any idea how much they are there?
thanks,
g~

Radio shack has 'em, but the ones around where I live have had a max of two packages of .187 female quick connects (10 piece), and usually only one. It's like they get one a week or something. ::) More common is male & female packages, or .187 & .250 female packages. I get better results at Fry's Electronics (like a Home Depot of electronics, computers, TVs, & appliances for those without one near by).
Online is another good spot. I'm sure some of the common refered sites from here sell them, but can't remember which ones. :-\ Maybe someone else who remembers?

None of the stores around me, incl Home Depot, carried the .187 size in bulk, only the .250 size. The .250 will fit just fine over the .187 tabs on the microswitches and stay connected. You can purchase a small bag of 5 of each size at Radio Shack for less than $2 and try it yourself before commiting to a box of 100 (which my local Home Depot sells for $5).

I've heard that Autozone and Napa carry them in big bags of 50 or 100 for a reasonable price. I haven't seen them, though, and I think that they are not labeled as .187, but they are the same size.

I bought my 100 pack from bob roberts..cant remember exactly how much it was but pretty cheap.

Bob has the better ones that are fully shielded/covered. His normal price is $5 a bag of 50, but I think he has them on sale for $4. But remember he has $6 flat shipping for < 1 pound.
I just used a bag of 50 of them last weekend and they worked well.. just crimped them on.
I have not been able to find any packages with more than 7 in them at retails stores (for about $1.50 a pack!) and those are the ones that are only shielded around the crimp area, AND with more breakable plastic too... You cant beat bob. Order extra.. Its amazing how fast you go thru them. A simple cocktail table, each side having 2 joysticks and 5 buttons used up 58 connectors!!!!

I found some .187 female quick connects at autozone for $1.97 for 20 connectors.
Not the cheapest, but nice to know in a quick pinch. :)

after quickly doing the math i think the autozone price of $1.97 is pretty cheap considering i didnt have to pay for shipping on top of that price heheh.
I checked out the local ADVANCED AUTO and they were $2.99 for 20. OUCH, a buck more!!!

heh.. good to know... I've resorted to radio shack for overpriced .187 clips... and my local napa didn't have .187's in stock... but I'll check Autozone next time...

I Was able to find some at my local Home Depot. Don't bother talking to the people who work there, they'll just look at you oddly and send you to differnt sections of the store. I found them in the electriction (suprise suprise) section. Box of 100 for 6.50$ I believe it was. They're not fully insulated (sadly) and I'd rate the plastic on them as 'medium' grade.

Hoe, i'd be surprised if those weren't .250's which can work in a pinch but are too wide for *most* microswitch contact tabs...
they work, but usually it's prefered to get the tighter fitting .187's....
I also think there's nothing wrong with using the un-insulated kind. FWIW

I just had several radio shacks nearby. cleared them all out ;)

I needed another pack of Quck Disconnects, so I swung by home depot today, and got 100 fully insulated QDs for 8.50. Not too bad of a price. Alright quality.
-
i just spent about 15-20 bucks at the shack cuz they only sell the female/male packs. any one want about 50 male QD's?
-
Where are the 187 female quick connectors on Bob Robert's site? I cannot find them and would like to buy some.
Thanks

Goto "Connectors" on the main page, then scrol down to "Quick Disconnect Terminals." They were a buck off not too long ago.
