Hey gang!
I've just moved from Toronto to Peterborough and I've started building the game room and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on using Rope Lighting. Something like this:

How would something like this look? What colour would look best? Any thoughts on multi-colour Rope Lights?
I used SketchUp to mock up what the new game room is going to look like:

I use standard white ones and they look great hidden away like that. We have them in our kitchen when the lights are out.

I've used them a few times and they are great, I would use the white ones.

I used ropelight behind marquees in my gameroom , it's actually darker than in the picture, the exposure and flash on my digital camera makes it look like daylight in there :)

My brother has that in his sons' room. Works great. I'm holding out until I figure out a way to do multicolor LEDs and change the color whenever I want.

No air hockey?

how the heck do you guys afford all this stuff? lol

I had rope lighting in my living room for christmas and I noticed it smells like rubber. Wouldn't want that around all year.

I'm just impressed that the game room encompasses 50% of his house.

Rope lighting is a good quick solution but you really have to keep it hidden. When used for low light levels it's good... when you can see it it's not much different than lit plastic owls outside a double wide.

Dem dang owls keep the possums away!

I use blue rope light, not hidden. It looks great.
But, my gameroom is not like yours. It's all arcade games. The subtle lighting works great with my 12 games.
