In resolutions greater than and including 640x480, my WG D9400 flatscreen becomes slightly blurry in the corners. I tried adjusting the focus using the knob on the side, but it only succeeds in making the center sharp and the corners less sharp. The corners never reach the same level of sharpness as the center. Is this normal? Anything I can do to improve it?

normal. most folks don't pay much attention to the corners . many new tv's are off a little bit from the factory.
this is more evident on a flat crt. it takes more time for the electron beam to strike in the corners than the screen center . thats the reason crts have been spherical all these years.
scan modulation circuitry has been developed to compensate the effect on flat screens

Thanks, that's reassuring. It's only noticeable when viewing the desktop anyway, which isn't very often.

It's also due to the spacing of the dot pitch. If you look at new SD TVs, you'll see the same thing - tight vertical lines at center, and gradually spreading out.
