Title: Need help finding bushings used in spinner controls
Post by: galaga69 on March 15, 2008, 08:10:30 am
Hey guys - I need some expertise here. I need to replace the nylon bushing(s) in a couple of arcade games that use spinners (Tron - which uses a split-type bushing, and Arkanoid, which uses a non-split type). I understand that "Nyliner" represents a company that manufactures bushings of this type. Arcade parts shops sometimes show this part to be available for a specific spinner, however it looks like they want to charge $12/ea for them... WOW!

I have three main questions:

1. Where is the best place to buy this kind of part?
2. Are there other names for this part besides "nylon bushing", "split bushing" and "Nyliner"?
3. Is there a common method for ordering these things by size (I presume an interior diameter and shaft length combination)?

Thanks in advance - any help will be greatly appreciated!  :)

I bought a bunch to rebuild my Vindicator controllers a couple years ago, from a company called IGUS (http://igus.com/).
They were great to deal with, even though my order was really small.
I looked into ordering some from Oscar, but he was paying more than I could get them for.

You will need to know the ID, OD, length, and possibly the width of the flanges.
I actually found a nyliner fit chart somewhere, and used that to cross-reference at IGUS, but I don't remember where that fit chart is.

Thank you very much for providing the lead to IGUS. It looks very promising for what I need.  :D
