Title: Anyone have a Legal Cabinet Template
Post by: Hoagie_one on May 23, 2003, 01:35:51 pm
One that is full size, that I can have printed out to use to draw on my wood to cut out.  I have very little knowledge when it comes to following plans so unless I have a cookie cutter pattern, I will sooooo screw it all up.

BTW, Preferable a big cabinet template.
you can email me any files to hoagie_one@sbcglobal.net

Thanks all.

Cant get the quartet cab now, he decided to keep it for his own mame cab.

I'm still gonna get teh centipede cab for the interim, but I wanna build a big one too, so thats why I'm looking for the plans.

After the big one is born, ill just sell the Centipede cab.

why not just take the centipede cab, cut up the front to support a larger control panel, and build a larger control panel for it.

Or do you mean you want a larger cabinet for a larger screen (like a 27" TV or something)...

Have you thought about how you are going to print out a 7' X 3' pattern? I believe Mameroom sells templates. May be as cheap as having one printed out.

simple use a s/w tool like poster which prints out big things on lots of sheets so i will just have to stick a couple of a3 sheets together...

just a little cheaper than mameroom (great site tho!)

I've got 1up's Pacmamea (www.1uparcade.com) plans (just the side panel actually, but the rest of the pieces are square so that's all you really need printed) printed on a bunch of 11"x17" pieces of paper that could be taped together to get the whole thing.  It's a bunch, though.  Probably like twenty sheets of paper, maybe more.  I ended up having it printed on a big plotter at school on a single 40"x80" sheet of paper, though, which is much MUCH nicer.  As soon as I'm absolutely sure that I don't need it any more I'll probably float it around here and see if anybody wants to take it off my hands for the cost of shipping.  I've got the sides cut out, but I'll keep it around until my cab's pretty well finished just in case.
I'll let go of my 11x17 set any time, though, so if your interested let me know.  It's not a very big cab, though.  In fact it's a relatively small, classy cab, which is what I really like about it.  I'm not a fan of the gargantuin monstrosities of mame cabs.  Any cab is going to be monstrous enough, IMO, without going out of your way to make something extra enormous.
The 40x80 sheet won't be up for grabs for a while still.
