I got the DK board in my JR cabinet and I just have to say there is nothing like the real thing.
I had never played DK outside of MAME and thought it was a blast but very hard.
It is night and day difference on the cabinet! I was able to blast through the levels with ease and the controls are silky smooth.
I will say this if any of you don't have a DK machine already please go out and get one.
I also was to give a shout out to mikesarcade.com
Awesome service $140 for the PCB with a 30 day warranty I had the board in two days! Awesome people to deal with. They will be getting more of my business in the future.

One last thing. The ladders are white for some reason.
I am pretty sure I have everything hooked up and all the other colors look right on so why are my ladders white and not the normal blueish teal color.
do i need to adjust something?
-
It sounds like you need to adjust the monitor. Are all the other colors correct?
-
I played around with the adjustments none of them helped. I double and triple checked all my connections. I think the issue may be in the monitor.
The picture is not super crisp and any thing that is the color of the ladders is white including some of the text.

Could you be missing a color?? Does the monitor work fine for DK JR.?
-
I am pretty sure I am missing a color....DK JR looked ok but something is not quite right with the monitor.
I am uploading a video to youtube as we speak. I will have it linked very soon.
thanks.

Just curious, whats your high score?

I have a similar problem right now with my PCB. I am missing green. My monitor shows green when the video cable is unplugged so I am pretty sure it's the PCB. Waiting for a new one now. Maybe your PCB is bad? How about the video cable?
-
right now 35k is where I am at...still a n00b.
I just got the PCB....it was tested at mikesarcade. I will email them. The water in DK JR was the right color and that is very close to the ladders in DK. I really don't I think there is something up with this monitor. It is not very crisp. But it is like 25 years old. Does not look like its ever had a cap kit.

here is a link to the video of my machine

Your video is cool. Thanks for sharing. It doesn't look like you are missing any colors to me. Maybe you just need to adjust the fly back a bit so it's not so bright? Have you adjusted the blue bias and the brightness too?
-
I have played with the brightness but how do i adjust the blue bias? I played with all the knobs.
-
On the neck board (the board at the back of the monitor tube, see it?) Look underneath towards the bottom and there is R, G, and B bias as well as saturation controls for blue and red. Check it out. I think that's what you're overlooking.
-
Will that kill me if I touch it? lol seriously though how dangerous are they?
Ohhh wow I found them! Thanks! Its Perfect now!!!!!!! you rock man

Ok so I adjusted the back of the monitor last night like blkdog7 told me to and it fixed everything.
When I turn on the machine this morning the ladders are back to white. I dont understand it. If i turn the pots a certain way they should stay at that setting right?
Any ideas in what is causing this fellows
Thanks again...you guys are most helpful to this arcade collecting n00b
