Title: Guitar Hero IIII Kramer mod for PS2-I would like to share
Post by: genesim on March 12, 2008, 09:17:21 pm
Ok first of all, I got the first pictures from another website.    This is to enable star power alot better!   It is pretty much perfect now on the Kramer guitar!

As you may or may not know, there is a ball that rolls to get the Star Power, which in my opinion is way to sensitive out of the box.   Here is the fix.

One slight adjustment that I found(my picture).   The plastic piece needs to be broken off or the bend will either go back to the way it was, or way out of the way making it non-responsive.   Took me a while to figure out this fact.

Also there is a nice converter at Walmart that runs it to PC and is vista compatible which makes the guitar work with MAME guitar freaks.  Including the whammy bar!!  Rock on!!

You weren't exactly clear on what the mod does, all I know is its supposed to make star power better.  Does the mod makes it so you have turn the guitar further to activate star power or something?

It makes it(Star Power) not so sensitive.   So for people that hold it at an angle won't activate it accidently.

Bend it the other way to make it more sensitive.

The point is that many people have complained about the Kramer and this fixes it.   It isn't all my idea, but breaking the plastic piec is, which I suspect the manufacturer tried to do this to rectify the problem.

Well I don't think it did, and at least with personal bending can make everyone adjust how they want it to.

I have the SG that game with the original GH for PS2, and I like the sensitivity. When I play my buddy's guitar, I have to hold the guitar completely vertical and shake it a bit in order to activate star power. With mine, I just have to tilt it up a bit and I'm good to go, and I don't remember accidentally activating the star power for a very long time. It actually makes it easy because lifting the guitar throws off my concentration.

I don't have to shake it..just lift it.   But to each his own.   I think the SG was much better before this mod.  I can't stand wires though, and that is why I took the SG I had back.

The Kramer I think is much more solid.

Who said that?   It isn't coming out till the Aerosmith version does.   Hopefully for my sake both versions are on the PS2!

You did.  Work on your Roman numerals.   :laugh2:

OOOPS...but technically those aren't roman numerals because there is no such thing as IIII.   Touche'!
