Title: Wei-ya vs Jen Shinn
Post by: discuspro on March 10, 2008, 05:37:38 pm
Well I bought a 25" chassis from 8liners. When I got the chassis (it was a Wei-ya c825hr-02) I hooked it up to my Hantarex polo 25" and I got a picture for about 2 minutes and then it went out.

Anyway, I sent it back and I got a replacement chassis back but this time it can back as a Jen Shinn 329 chassis.

Did I loose quality or is the Jen Shinn better? Also, is it compatible with a 25" Hantarex? Last time I checked I measured 6.0 ohms at vertical and 1.9 ohms at horizontal on the yoke.

Last important thing, what should the b+ be set to and how do I check it on this chassis. I've never worked with a Jen Shinn chassis before. Are there any good manuals in pdf around?

There is ZERO documention available for the Jen Shinn chassis. Seems that 8liners got a bunch of bad Wei-ya chassis, but their competition Alva Amusement did not.

Hi Ken, I was hoping to find you here.  I figured you would be the one to know.

So, I look at this chassis and I see 4 pots on the chassis itself.  The only one that I can identify is the pin-cush since that is what is says next to it.  The other three I have no clue to.  Where is the resistor that I would be able to test b+ to ground?  Then, which pot adjusts b+?

Also, where is the width coil or adjustment?

Whats with the not labeling stuff if there is no documentation?

I've got a good picture, going to try a burn in.

Still making me nervous that I can't figure out how to test b+ on this chassis.

You'll have to contact 8liners.com and ask if they can give you some information on those pots and the voltage adjustment points.
