Title: How big is your bartop marquee?
Post by: Lackey on March 09, 2008, 11:33:18 pm
Hey All!

I am in the process of building my first bartop and curious as to how big I should make the marquee. Was curious to see how big each of you made yours. Is there a defacto standard out there?

Depends how wide your screen is and the overall proportions of your cabinet. The one we make for example, has a 17" screen and two players, and is 16 1/2 inch on the inside edge, and 24" high, so we make the marquee area 5" high (4" viewable accounting for the retainers).

As a guide, make it no more than a quarter of the full height, and keep it similar in proportion to an original marquee's width/height ratio.

Mine are 15" wide by 5" tall, with a little over 4" showing vertically between the molding holding it in place.

Thanks guys, I adjusted my plans. Looks like 5" (4" with retainer) is standard.
