Hello everyone, I just got a wells garner monitor from a Dragon's Lair. How can I give it power since I already gutted out the cab? Can I just splice it into a regular power cord for the wall?

Probably not. Almost all REAL arcade monitors require that you put an isolation transformer inline with the monitor. If you gutted the cabinet, it was probably inside (the big honkin transformer on the bottom). Also, you need a power supply to feed it, since I'm sure it won't be expecting 120V fed to it. That was probably inside the cabinet as well, otherwise you can buy arcade PS for like $10.
Please tell me you didn't trash a nice Dragon's Lair to make MAME. And if you did, what components were still inside?

No-not yet anway. I just bought a pretty junky Dragon's Lair and was planning on running Daphne with it. So in a sense, yes I'm gutting it, but I plan to restore it to it's original status using Daphne...
Is it a crime? The game plays, but I'm not sure how much longer it has.....No laser rot ;D

It is true that most older arcade monitors need an isolation transformer. If wired direct to 120 AC damage will occur and serious harm to anyone touching the live chassis and ground is very likely.
You will probably not need an arcade PS as it powers the boards and various lights but seldom the monitor. Usually monitors derive all their power from the AC supply via the isolation transformer.
Bob Roberts has a very good article on how to wire an arcade cab which covers what various parts are used for.
