Title: Family Guy Artwork?
Post by: Jdurg on March 07, 2008, 01:42:49 pm
I've been in the process of designing and planning my arcade cabinet for nearly four months now, yet I still don't even have my CP done.   ;D  I had one idea for some artwork but after talking with a friend of mine a great new idea came to be.

I'll call my arcade cabinet "The Drunken Clam" and make it a Family Guy themed cab.  My marquee will be the Drunken Clam logo with "Drunken" on the left and "Clam" to the right of it.  Since my cabinet is going to be modular (Three parts; CP, top Half, and bottom half) I can make the bottom half have a design that will make it look like the bottom part of a bar (cartoonish wood paneling) and this can go all the way around the front and opposite side of the cab.

Where the two halves meet will be designed to look like a bar top's edge.  This will also allow me to continue this 'design' over the sides and front of the CP.  The top of the CP will then be designed like a bar top with the trackball being the center of an ash tray, and various coasters, beat up napkins, spilled drinks designed over the CP top.

At the bottom of one of the sides, I'll have Stewie looking up as though he's on the serving side of the bar.

The top half on one side will be Peter passed out drunk with a Pawtucket Patriot glass in his hand, and the back side of Quagmire and Brian.  From the opposite side, you'll see the front of Quagmire and Brian and the back of the passed out Peter.

What i'm wondering is if anybody has any high-resolution Family Guy artwork that I could use?  If not, I can just put in some of the DVDs and pull screen captures from them.  I'm just really psyched that I have an idea on what I want to do.   ;D

Thanks.  I'm really thinking that this Family Guy cabinet will look pretty damned good and should be pretty easy to put together.  Especially since most of the cabinet won't require art due to the Drunken Clam Bar theme.

I have access to Fox's art library for every season's DVD.

The 300+ dpi JPG files are slightly too big to be attachments here, even when I ZIP them. So I hosted them on imageshack. Here they are:

Season One DVD Cover Art - High Res

Season One DVD Cover Art - High Res NO TEXT (great for side art)

There's the standard cover art for the DVDs, as well as the cover art without any text which could make for some perfect side art, etc.

If there's a particular season's art files you want, let me know.

Cheers.

Thanks Again.  I'm hoping to get some mock-ups done this weekend if time allows.  I've got an image in my head right now that I think will look awesome and should be pretty simple.

No problem.
If you go on Amazon and see any of the DVD season covers that you would like to use, just let me know and I'll upload the high res version, etc.

Cheers!

Well, I own all of the DVDs so I can get some images pretty readily if I want to.  After looking through my design plans, I think I'm only going to need artwork for the Marquee and CP Overlay.  Neither of which would probably require any direct images.  The images on the side of the cabinet I plan on just drawing out and painting myself.  Since it's going to be relatively few colors and they'll all be solid colors, I'll just draw it out and pant it myself.  Besides, I think it will be more fun that way.  ;D  The Marquee and Overlay will be done via MAME Marquees but I'll post the images here before they get printed.  It's nice to finally have an idea in my head of what I want to do.

Now if only the weather and my basement would dry up I could continue with this project.   :'(
