Hi,
I've already registered and paid for a Webhosting for an alternative MaLa Website.
The idea is to help Swindus out and host new Layouts and Plug-ins.
So you can send you latest work to me ( via e-mail at this point) and I will be happy to host it. (See my forum profile for details)
The domain name will be advised soon :-) [EDIT] Malafe.net (http://Malafe.net)
The website may be expanded to offer more depending on the response I get.

You should get an English forum going too :P I always forget what those damn buttons mean on the official forums. Have to have Babel Fish open all the time.
-
Great idea loadman - since it seems that the MaLa site has gone static. :applaud:
headkaze - I know what you mean - when I post to the MaLa forum, I find myself switching back to this forum just to check button locations - is it Post Preview or Preview Post ::).
-
I did some searching and posted some links of stuff mamewah and mala layout related, don't know if its exactly what your looking for?

Wow. I didn''t think of that. Is it a big task to set up a forum in webspace ?

Not really. The basic requirement is usually SQL and PHP. Then you just upload whatever forum board software you want (there are free ones) and chmod a few files. Make sure you change the default admin password and your set.

Ahh I have to pay extra for mySQl, not preparted to do that at this point. I'll be in enough trouble when the wife finds out I 've spent money on a website hosting :o

Sure is ;D
I'm also after Plug-in that have not been posted.
I heard a rumor of a plug-in that handles auto rotating monitors but I can't find it
-
http://www.freehostia.com/ looks okay to start off with. It's free has SQL and PHP with 250 MB of storage and no ads. Only 10 MB SQL space but you can always upgrade if the site becomes big enough.
Or is that info coming too late now? :'(

But anyway the idea is to show your cab running MaLa anyway ;)

That reminds me. I need to upload my Cab. :dizzy:
-
Hi Loadman,
I tried to upload my cab several times :dizzy: but I get a time-out on explorer.
Hope I didn't make a mess on the other side.:-[
It were 2 files of about 300K, I also tried one but alas.......
-
I look what it happens here. It might been bug someware....

Thanks Space Fractal. You have been a great help to me with the website

I still havent done, because I have other trouble with my machine right now.
THe Time Limit problem is mainly due the pictures might been to big?
The webupload is very slow, which is might been due with the webhost. The only I can due is set the timelimit up.
I look when I have fixed the machine problems.
In the meantime. Just upload it here the second picture here, and I upload it to correctplace.

The server is all the way in Australia ;D
Yeah just small jpg's please
-
Fixed.
All pictures was moved to the same file on the server. So the second picture "won", since it overwrote the first one.
I have also set the time limit up to 360 secs (before 180 secs). I hope it dosent got that default limit is on 30 secs normally.
If server have GD installed, the server should resize the picture itself to max width in size, otherwice you get a error if the picture is to big anyway (400 in width). Please add that limit to the rules (I just did that).
The website itself does "download" very fine with a very good connection. Not sure it download with full internet connection (I have 10mbit download), but it close.
-
Space Fractal,
I tried to send 1 jpg of 300k , that didn't work.
I downsized 2 jpg's to about 60k each and that worked.
Strange enough when explorer times out my internet connection is also screwed up (happened several times) . I had to restart my router to get things going again.........
That will teach me to send big files to aussieland
;D
But mission accomplished......
-
one of the pictures should not have been accepted, because it too wide. For some reason there is still some bug for image size checking.
I do resize that picture for, so it dosen't breakout the layout of the site.
I have publish you upload as well and hope it ok for the resized version.
How long time did you wait before the timeout?
It strange about the router. I also Live in Denmark, so....
-
Space Fractal,
Thanks for putting up my cabinet.
The timeout was like after a minute or so (not quite sure but just about)
-

Glad you like it Loadman. I love these old computers and have been collecting them for years. A lot of people just think that classic consoles are limited to the Commodore and Atari machines but there were many unusual models created. Some of my favorites are old eastern block consoles. They are very rare and hard to find. Quite a few of them are Sinclair ZX80 clones but there are quite a few completely original machines as well.
You're down under right? Have you ever heard of a console called a SeeBee?
(for those who have no idea what we're yammering about, you can see my museum here www.markrandall.com (http://www.markrandall.com)

Yes Aus,
We had MicroBee.
I don't know if that is the same thing with a diffrent name for Marketing in other locations or a different piece of hardware.
-
Microbee?
Yes, I think that must be it. Do you have one laying around taking up valuable space? ;D
BTW, I just want to thank you for taking up the mantle of continuing Mala development. While Swindus created an awesome program, no matter how great, every program needs to grow and evolve. Much appreciated!
