control panel is made outa 3/4 mdf
if i pick up 1/8 lexan that will mean i need 7/8 t molding correct?
or is there somthing iam not taking into account

This is for your CP top? I'd use 3/4" t-molding to keep it consistent with the rest of your cabinet. Cut the slot off center so when the lexan is on top the t-molding covers the entire edge of the lexan and most of the MDF. This will leave 1/8" of MDF on the bottom not covered by the t-molding. Use a chamfering bit with your router and chamfer the bottom 1/8". You won't be able to tell at all that the piece is actually 7/8" thick.

ah alright, so stay with the 1/8 lexan?

my home depot is horrible, they never have anything
they had 3/32 lexan, and that was all scratched up.
no 1/8 ;\

Head over to the woodworking forum. I believe there is a thread in there where all of the good Lexan suppliers are linked to. I got a great sheet of 1/8" Lexan for almost nothing!!!
