What do you suppose this was originally? The only game I know to that use that kind of screen area is 6-player X-Men. Was this one of those cabs?
-
Someone other than me could probably tell you that X-men 6 player was two separate screens.
-
yes, it was split screens

In that case, It's a real mystery. The control panel looks modified but the outer shell looks original.
-
I saw that the other day...my guess was some kind of modern-ish generic cab.

I have seen one of these before. That control panel is original, but looks to have had some bad repaints and stickers put on. It is a generic JAMMA cab, the monitor in them is a actually a PAL Phillips TV set and has a set of PC speakers bolted on top. It was a generic UK JAMMA cab. I forget who made them, but there were not many built. I'd guess less than 50 or so. To be honest they were a bit crap.

It's unsightly, though would be interesting as a sit-down driver with a console inside, what with that big widescreen. Have to find a way to mask that ugliness though.
-
Oh god that thing is ugly. I would hate playing anything on that monster.
-
That has been relisted a couple of times, i think the starting price is just too high for how ugly it is. Also if that CP is original it has had some extra buttons added at some point and they are not pretty.
-
That would be sweet for Darius!
-
What seems really confusing to me is the widescreen display in a generic cabinet. Proof that this thing wasn't that well thought out or proof that it was designed for some other purpose that fell through?
AFAIK, Darius, Darius II, and Ninja Warriors were split over 3 screens. Rastan III only used 2. Taito did like the multi-screen setups, though.

What's cool about it is the big monitor. I think rotating it to a vertical setup and puting vert games on it would be sweet.
