Title: Cocktail mode in Mala
Post by: astro57 on March 02, 2008, 06:03:03 pm
I can't seem to get the screen to flip when going from player one to player two. I'm also pretty new to this.  I've built a cocktail cabinet and I have been trying mala as a frontend.

Thanks, Dave

Flip the MaLa menu or Flip when playing a Mame game?

Flip when playing the game, player two is on the same end as player one. The game is set to cocktail cabinet in the dip settings.

Which game is it?

Did you try reseting the game after changing the dip switch setting to cocktail?

Also just an FYI, having the game flip back and forth between player one and two in cocktail mode is controlled by mame not MaLa.

No not all games have cocktail mode. Not sure about choplifter, but Ms Pac does.

If you press tab while in the game, a menu will come up.
Select Dip Switches.
If there is a cab type option, change it from upright to cocktail.
Escape back to first menu and select reset game.

When you start a two player game it should flip back and forth in between players in cocktail arcade fashion.

I have seen games that have the cocktail dipswitch but still don't flip.(They also didn't have the mame disclaimer of cocktail mode is not supported.)
