Title: Slight image shift w/ Mala at 640x480
Post by: gatordad on February 29, 2008, 08:43:50 am
I originally posted this in the monitor forum and I'm really not sure it belongs there.

I can't seem to figure this one out.

If I load a game from mala and desktop is being displayed 800x600 all is good. Mame is dead on square center of screen.

But when I change my desktop res to 640x480 and launch a game from mala the screen image shifts ever so slightly to the left. so just a very small portion of the screen or game is not viewable.

I have tweaked the software adjustments several times but it continues to happen.

Any ideas

With an LCD monitor you might have a button like "AutoSet" to adjust the display to centre for some resolutions. It might also have a Menu button with controls for Vertical and Horizontal position. CRT's often have similar OSD for adjusting screen position. Generally once you set the position for a particular resolution it will stay that way.

I have a 28 inch hantarex mgg eq3 old presentation monitor, No OSD.
If I change the adjustments (which I can do manually on the back of the display) will it or should it remember the settings per resolution, or would this be a global change. that would have to be re-tweaked every time you switch resolutions?
