Hello. Just wanted your opinion on a slot machine marquee (belly art) I'm making for a friend. I'm using Photoshop and I just want to know how white looks backlit. The theme of his slot is white so I'm thinking of the background color being white but I'm afraid that when backlit it may not look so good. Would it be better to use a lighter blue color? Does anyone have any links to some white arcade lit marquee's? Found Arkanoid and Crackshot online so it might be doable. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
*edit* Also found galaxian, Mikie, and Punch-Out used a lot of white in the marquee so I think I'll be alright. Anyone here done a marquee mostly in white?

White should be fine, just make sure of the tint of the light source itself. There are different tints with flourescent bulbs, so make sure to get the right one.

How do you make sure you get the right one?

The box the bulb comes in tells what kind of tint it has. Some are a clean white, some have a yellow tint, some more blue (of course, you also have black lights).
Just meant to look at what kind you're getting. Don't just grab one off the shelf because it's the right size.

Should be fine. The bulb in the machine is a classic florescent tube (white). Also, the artwork is a bit off-white which should diffuse any bright coloring. Worse case scenario is that I use extra paper behind the marquee to diffuse the lighting or just redo the marquee.
