Title: Tv tube Swap

Hello, i had a chasis of a old cabinet, but the tube had broken pins.  I had this tv, and think replace the tube.

Is "compatible" this type of tv tube, with a arcade chasis?.  Any suggestion?

Here's all you need to read before considering a tube swap.

ALWAYS DISCHARGE THE TUBE WHEN WORKING ON THE MONITOR!!!!

Before considering the tube swap, you need to make sure the tube has the same socket connection as the chassis you intend to use.  Measure the resistance on each section of the yoke, to see if you need to use the old yoke, or the new one.  The Yoke has to match the chassis, so if the yoke measures differently on the new tube, you need to use the one from the original tube on the new tube.  Mark the magnet position as it is on the new tube, you will be keeping them with the new tube and reinstalling them in the exact same position after you swap out the yoke.

Before buy a grave  (for precaution).  I had some experience with the tube swap. 

Another question. Flat tv tube can work?.   These screens are super, but no have idea if works, with a "normal" chasis. 

Somebody know any experience with flat screen?

picked up a junk panasonic 25" console a couple of weeks ago . the set had been in the alley long enough to freeze
to the ground !  in shop, a quick post mortem revealed the crt was in good shape ( what i wanted ).
called my route guy and installed it into his "Carnival King"  the following monday .
it looked great and he had the game back on route that wed....
the price is right :  negligible cost ( FREE tube) - he gets a crt discount ( $) - delays landfill entry (recycling) .....
WIN - WIN  ;D

note: flat screen crt's will likely require additional pin correction circuitry... so yes , useable with tweaking

Do you have schematics of tweaking.  A friend have a bad CRT flat tv.  These tubes are fancy, and look great, but don't have idea if works.

Have pics of you FLAT crt Arcade monitor.   :o
