I've got the cordless wingmans from logitech that I picked up real cheap off of eBay a while back. Well, I am pretty happy with these but I discovered the other day that my console emulators will not accept a diagonal movement from them. For example, on NHL 96 for genesis (using fusion), I can go up/down and left/right with no problems but if I want to cut my player diagonally across the screen he just basically stops. I have tried a number of other emulators and they all seem to behave the same way. This is with the digital "D" pad, not the analog stick.
I think what is going on here is that my pad is sending one up-right command as apposed to both up and right at the same time. Is there some way around this? I already called Logitech and they were absolutely no help.

All those emus running in straight lines! All those right angles, they keep falling over... oh the huge manatee!

Why Chad, I have no idea what you are talking about?

Damn the edit function. Foiled.

Is this something you're using stock or something you hacked?

I'm using it just as sent from Logitech. I am utilizing their profiler software to allow me to send an esc keystroke when a certain button combo is held so I can exit back to my FE from the couch. This doesn't involve the D-pad though. I really, really want to get these working. This button layout works great for pretty much every emulator I use, even Project64.

Well you could try mapping the keyboard buttons used in the emu to your controllers buttons. Does the profiler allow you to do that? If not just switch to joytokey or xpadder.
-
Unfortunately, the profiler can only be used on one controller at a time and I am trying to run two. I was thinking something along the lines of joytokey or xpadder like you mentioned but I am not familiar at all with what they are capable of. I would need to make the diagonal commands from my pads each be a combo of two keystrokes. Can they do that? Which one would be more suited for this?? I'll look into it a myself, but if someone knows off the top of their head it would certainly save me some time.
Thanks for the idea!

Here's a small tutorial I made. It's in execute format. It also includes the xpadder program.
