Yes it will fit in a basement.  Free shipping is free, but there is a handling charge.  I am in the Chicago area.  I will post pics later tonight.  If you want drop me an e-mail and I can e-mail the pics.

It was approx $45.00 - $50.00 to zipcode 25510.  The unit weighs about 50 lbs.
