WOOHOO! X-Files 2 Movie is coming soon! ;D :applaud: :applaud:
Thanks the Heavens :notworthy:

Not sure how excited I am. I used to love the show and enjoyed the movie, but after it ended I basically forgot all about it. I'm sure I'll see it, but I don't know how quickly that'll be.

I thought the movie was great :) ...and was hoping that there was going to be a
followup much sooner.
I used to love the shows too... until moulder left it. The chemistry just wasnt the same.
I think David and Julian both are very good actors in that particular role, and really make things seem believable. Bad actors can make even the best scripts fall flat.
David is good at the moulder character... but didnt really fare well with his other
roles in other movies. Good to see him back where he really shines.
In some pics, I see David with another woman... so that worries me that
Julian might only play a very small time on-screen. Hopefully that isnt the case.
I wonder where the plot will twist now? :)

I suppose I'll go see it, but at this point I'm not sure it makes sense to make a new movie. Their story momentum is LONG gone. I also quit watching the show close to the end. The last season I even remotely watched was the one directly following the movie when they moved the set to LA. I couldn't even bring myself to watch the last few episodes of the series. There was just no more interest after they added the two new agents.

I quit watching the show around season 2-3 when it went from "fictionalized famous cases" to "soap opera". Enjoyed the movie, though.
Same here... It was my favorite show when it was more about monsters and people with weird abilities. It got real crappy when it started being all about past conspiracies and the smoking dude and all that.

Sounds like you both would enjoy the X-Files Book of the unexplained Volume I & II. They are neat reads and delve into the real world scientific and spiritual aspects of the stories from the first few seasons.

Personally I preferred the alien abduction/conspiracy episodes. But I agree that the show jumped the shark even before David Duchovny left. I think the writers just ran out of ideas, or at least good ones, but because the show was a such money spinner they had to keep churning out new episodes.
I can only handle so many dramatic revelations (which don't really explain anything) before I begin to say who cares.

A bootleg of the trailer recently came out:

What?! "conspiracies and the smoking dude and all that" Was a great way
to twist up the plots and make things unpredictable and dangerous. It also brought
the two characters closer, as they had to save each other and watch each others
backs more carefully. Its also rings true of the high-up (esp Govt.) places to be
filled with conspiracy's and corruptions, money, power, and secretive motives.

that link is d-e-a-d!!
this is a place to see it though for a while by the looks

I was a big fan of the X-Files. Wouldn't miss any of the episodes, even if it meant missing work. If my ex wasn't such a ---smurf---, I'd still have all the recordings I made. Even watched The Lone Gunmen.
But yeah, I concur with some of the other postings here. The show jumped the shark a long time ago (it did a better job of it than Xena though) and the momentum is long gone. Shows like Lost, Heroes, etc have all picked up the momentum and there were/are a few shows attempting to fill in the genre gap X-Files left behind. Watching/releasing a new X-Files movie now would be more like an attempt at a nostalgia trip than a rebirth in interest in X-Files. While I'm all for nostalgia, sometimes it's better to let something lie and let the fans reminisce.

Yeah looks like kak.
Maybe it will just go straight to DVD.
I would like to see the X Files movie, with a better scriptwriter, Awesome Director like Cameron, and a R rating like Aliens had.
Not a rehash of the last movie, please. I fell asleep watching that on video last time. The editing sucked.
I'm not asking much am I? :laugh2:
