Title: AtomicFE troubles
Post by: protokatie on February 22, 2008, 08:28:11 pm
I just DLed AFE last night and set it up and got everything working except that when I select a game, AtomicFE stays on top. I can hear the sound of the game running, but even when I go to the task bar, I dont see MAME (I see it in the task manager tho).

Any ideas?

System specs:
2 ghz AMD turion64
1 Gig RAM
Vista Home premium
dual screen setup (Ive tested it with only one screen tho)

Software Specs:
AtomicFE .19
MAME32 (Whatever the newest true release was)

AtomicFE has its own forum at
http://www.arcadefever.net/
Do you have any other programs loading at startup? Try having AtomicFE as the only program loading at startup. It sounds like there is another program that loads after Atomic that is causing it to loose focus to me.
Youki is very helpful with any issues and is a great guy. Good luck!

Good Luck! Atomic is a really good FE. :)

Not even using at startup, just double-clicking the EXE. Ill look at the linked page (damn is it "noisy").

you can access the forum from here :

For your problem, generally it is you have another application that is running with Atomic that cause that kind of focus problems.  Would you have an Antivirus???

I fixed it. Apparently AFE doesnt like it when you have MAME32 set to open in windowed mode, switched it back to fullscreen.

(For any of you wondering why I had it on windowed mode, it is due to me playing on my primary computer, so I like to be able to switch to other tasks easily)

If you are interrested you can use Atomic in windowed mode too.

You MUST put your windows resolution in a 16bit/pixel color mode. (65535 colors) not 24 or 31.

And in your startup .CFG file of Atomic.

Change the line :  WINDOWMODE=NO  to WINDOWMODE=YES
