i suddenly feel much better about my cabinet
Thats funny though. It looked very familiar like my old old cab it put an axe to.
We should keep it as an example of what happens when you build a cabinet when drunk. :laugh2:

I nominate for Hellcade.
MAME cabs typically don't count for Hellcade ...
-
also included is a full pc tower, amd 800 which has the mame software installed
1000,s of games to choose from including the simpsons/ninja turtles, star force, street fighter, the list goes on and on!!
... I'm surprised it hasn't been taken down by EBay yet ::)
-
here we have this brilliant piece of kit being a home made cabinet
Bah......hahahahaha :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: at least they only want $40 for it

Nope, that belongs in CrapMAME.
And I love how his grammar and typing skills match those of his cabinet-making skills. It only takes a half a second to hold down a shift key every new sentence...

I was thinking of buying it for a cheap 19" LCD, but if they take that little care over their stuff, I think I'll pass.

Q: Hi can I bid on the PC and not the cabinet?

A: its all in 1 auction,so if you win its up to you ,you could leave the cabinet here and i,d get rid of it no problem regards"

NO!! That's £40 GBP so it's almost $80 USD.
Mind you, for £40 it's an OK PC and TFT screen. Not great, but OK and you get a free wooden box you can turn into a plant pot, or even use as your coffin if you want to. :laugh2: :dunno

I've been giving this some thought ...
It's kind of mean, us all poking fun at this person's cab. Not everyone has great woodworking skills, or a sense of design. He surely isn't asking an astronomical amount of money for this thing either.
-
Brilliant!
:banghead:
-
that a turnarcade cabinet?
I quote "here we have this brilliant piece of kit" I think he meant to say SH!T
-
I'm not down on the guy as much for his cabinet as I am for his lack of presentation in his auction. I mean c'mon, he couldn't clean up some of the crap lying around, and shut the door of his cluttered bathroom before taking a picture? Gimme a break...

That's entirely true, and CrapMAME was last updated...?
-

Cheek!
-
Does this guy know what a t-square is?
-
what the heck is going on with the bottom half of it. it looks like one side is 4 inches shorter then the other and he just slapped the front on cockeyed.
-
He's advertising a cabinet with four buttons by showing screens of SFII? :dizzy:
Sure this isn't a joke auction?
-
it has 7 if you count the mouse buttons ;)
-
Its a shame really -- it looks like someone is genuinely interested in buying it for their kids.
I wish they'd reconsider ... The seller looks like he's dealt in cabs before - he should know better.
The phrase "Buyer Be-ware" has never been so true.
-
Yeah, if I added every crappy mame machine to the hellcade, I would have run out of server space long ago... ;D
I have added about 75 new pics to the hellcade in the last week though...

What's with the image of the derelict building Brent?
-
My guess is it's a popular arcade from back in the day that fell on hard times, as so many did. I reckon a few US gamers might know where it is...
-

Are you talking about this one? I have no idea where it is or where I got that pic from. But I imagine that's what the Hellcade would look like from the outside... :(

Or are you talking about this one?

That one is in Hawaii from what I remember...

Both ... now.
They are pretty amazing pictures! Good find, and a little sad too :'(

I think a lot of the images in the Hellcade aren't that bad.
BrentRadio is obviously picky about how he thinks conversions ought to be done. (ie not at all)

Well you are wrong about that. I know why conversions were done, so ops could make money. No biggie I don't really care about that. The whole point of the hellcade can be stated like this... Imagine a whole arcade full of all your favorite classics just waiting to be played. And as you walked up to each one, it was a crappy jamma conversion. Every single one was converted! That would be Hell, and you would be in the Hellcade. Standing there with a handful of quarters and a tear rolling down your cheek...Doesn't matter if they were done well or not. Just that they were converted at all.

Well, someone bought it;
"Winning bid: £46.03"

Oh, I get it now.
Why don't you put what you just wrote on the Hellcade home page, so that slow folks like me can understand your message?
-
I didnt think it was that terrible. Certainly not worth of CrapMAME.
I am suprised though that a vendor would start a thread like that.
-
what the heck is going on with the bottom half of it. it looks like one side is 4 inches shorter then the other and he just slapped the front on cockeyed.
It appears to be a partially open door.
The crapMAME site is an exercise in irony. The design is 3rd grade 2001, the writing is 3rd grade elementary school, and yet its purpose is to mock the poor creative efforts of others. I bet it doesn't get updated anymore because the owner was lost in the power of his own suction.
-

I'm only a small-time vendor; I'm still more of a hobbyist than a businessman, which is why you will find many comments from me like this on BYOAC. Many vendors have become detached from the scene to retain a business facade, but I'm still a hobbyist who spends more time contributing here and working on my own stuff than selling, which is why I still speak my mind on creatively offensive efforts like this lamer.

For a moment, I thought someone had mamed a 'Wacko' cabinet.. :o

no worries mate- It was meant as a jab (but I should have put a winking smiley in there as well to denote it).
btw- the site is coming along nicely since I last checked. Keep it up!
