Title: J-PAC and I-PAC 4 video issue
Post by: sman6452 on February 21, 2008, 06:14:03 pm
I have a K7000 hooked up to a J-PAC (which is hooked up to an ArcadeVGA) to run the video and then I use an I-PAC4 for my custom control panel. The configuration is as follows:

CPU PS/2 -> J-PAC -> I-PAC4 -> Keyboard

I use the AVRes utility to set the resolution to 321x240 on the Windows desktop.

Leaving everything alone, every few minutes the picture on the monitor goes all weird ( http://img444.imageshack.us/img444/7813/distortedrz4.jpg). It will stay this way until I unplug the CPU PS/2 cord from the I-PAC4 and plug it in again. When the monitor goes to this 'weird' mode, it is not scrolling. Everything remains static as a double picture, but there is bad flicker. Also, when the arcade first starts up, in addition to the monitor problems the controls do not work. I have to unplug the PS/2 cable from the I-PAC4 and plug it in again. Then the controls work.

The monitor did not have this problem while it was hooked up to the stock game board that came with the cabinet (Mortal Combat 2). The monitor problems happen if I start up the arcade with only the J-PAC or with both the J-PAC and the I-PAC4.

Any suggestions?

Thx

An addition to my first post. After about 10 minutes, the problem disappears and the arcade works fine.

Any suggestions appreciated.
