Title: swappable panels - how many buttons should go with trackball?
Post by: TheShanMan on February 21, 2008, 01:06:47 pm
So I'm doing swappable panels, and I'm currently figuring out how many buttons I should get for my trackball panel.

Unfortunately in Mame32 the "trackball" column really seems to mean "analog" since it includes games that use spinners, wheels, or analog joysticks. So it doesn't seem easy to just look at a list of true trackball games to find the answer to this question.

So I can't think of any trackball games off hand that use more than one button, but there must be some. Can anyone think of them?

I'm not sure, but you can always check MAWS.

Do a deluxe search.

If you plan to play spinner games with your trackball, Star Trek uses 4.

I have an original tempest spinner which I plan to use on one panel with whatever I ultimately go with for a tron stick, but I'll keep that in mind as I was figuring 3 buttons would be plenty for that panel. So thanks! I'll have to check out that game - I don't remember ever playing it as a kid.
