Title: How do i cut holes and curves with router ?
Post by: ripsnort on February 21, 2008, 06:03:03 am
Hi. just got mi router and slowing starting to figure it all out but im struggling on holes and curves how do i make a perfect hole in my cp for example a trackball, im guessing you have to make some sort of tmplate but not sure wot i would use.  im also attemting a galaga style cab and having a bit of trouble figureing out how to make the curves on the sides just above the cp.

Any help with this would be much appreaciated. Ive tried looking on other posts but nothing really seems to give a perfect solution.

Cheers

Rik

1/4" plywood makes a good template material. You cut the template with a jigsaw or a hole saw. Then lay the template over the piece you want to route and clamp it down. Use a flush trim router bit and follow the template.

Or you could just use hole saws or a circle cutter on the actual material.
