Title: MAME question
Post by: HeadRusch on May 20, 2003, 12:43:10 am
I'm still using .61, as thats whats installed on that HD...I'll do some updates as soon as I can hammer out my "control" issues and the IPAC.

However, tonite I tried playing robotron for the first time...and when it fired up, the screen had a bezel around it...which meant the playing screen for robotron was WAY small.

I attempted to "Turn off BEZEL" artwork.....but that just caused the rom to stop working.
Do you HAVE to play robotron with the damn bezel????

Then I tried playing TOTAL CARNAGE..the prototype rom....and I had to configure the keys in game to use two of my 4 joysticks....but then the game just crapped out (I forgot how much I hate Windows 98).
I'd upgrade the box to 2000 if I wasn't sure if I wanted to go with Analogue Mame sometime in the not too distant future....

Anyhow, thank god NBA Jam is workin ;)

I seem to recall in certain versions that turning off individual artwork elements caused the artwork games to crash like that. I think I managed to fix that by disabling all artwork

I think it was .65 or .66 that I noticed this not happening anymore(so you could turn off just the bezel, but use the overlay for example)

Yeah, for some reason you can't just do individuals.  which sucks.
