I've been looking for attachments like this for exterior shell mounting, but they're not easy to come by.

Called "AC Power Inlet, Flanged". Usually listed in catalogs under "Power Entry Filters and AC Receptacles".

Jameco Electronics has them (www.jameco.com).

Here's the one you pictured:

The part you have pictured is known as a "C14 chassis plug". The type of connector on the end of a power cord that plugs into them is known as a "C13 line socket". These are usually collectively referred to as "IEC connectors".

So, this is for real?

Well..

I have three (3) of them on my jukebox/pinball only... Cost me about 1 € - 0.33 á - and, come on.. Very easy to come by if you can use a screwdriver ;) When a PSU blows the other components most likely are still usable?

Anyway, there's one in every PC PSU.. Not to mention the male power connectors and fans and all the wiring & molex connectors available (almost) for free :)

A local PC supplier here sells these "nonworking" PSUs for 1€ apiece. So, I bought 6 for 2 Euros ;) ..talk about wholesale..

Come on. Really? Where can I find.....................
