Need some ideas for 3 sided cocktial playing some games vertical and some horizontal!!
For horizontal I was thinking JS
B B B B B B
B
This will work for astreroids and defender and also the Streetfighter games.
For vertical I was thinking JS B B
Pretty simple for vertical games, frogger, digdug, shootem up games.
Am I missing anything here????

While the asteroids layout has enough buttons for street fighter.... it will NOT "work" for street fighter.
If you want streetfighter to be playable you really need the two rows of 3 buttons

The most buttons i've seen from "fighting games" neo geo are 4 buttons. I think this is if you are using two buttons at the same time which would eliminate the extra 2 in the six button configuration.

Here's what I just built on my 3-sided cocktail...
on the ends:
JS B B B
On the long side:
JS B B B JS B B B
B B B B B B

Bare with me!!! I think the Street Fighter games are by Capcom and use 6 buttons while the neo geo fighting games only use 4????

mameworld.net/maws
you can use that to view what configurations are needed for different games.

Here is what mine has.
SB = Start Button (Atari cones in my case)
CB = Coin Button (Ms Pac red buttons in my case)
TB = 2" trackball
SP = Spinner
TJ = Trigger Joystick (Tron Cocktail stick in my case)
Left Side:
SB
SB JS TB B
CB B B
CB
Horizonal
SB CB SB CB
JS B B B SP TB JS B B B
B B B B B B
Right Side
B B
CB SB
B JS SP TJ B
CB SB
B B
Haven't found a game I can't play yet...

My left side has a magstik plus, and three push buttons (plays all of my verticle games, although it's not authentic to play asteroids w/ a joystick...i don't mind it)...my right side has a track ball, and two buttons to play all the trackball games I have (I might install a spinner on that side too).
my long, horizontal side has a 2 player "street fighter" setup.
the "coin buttons" (I won't have room for a coin box) will be beneath the horizontal control panel, on the actual body of the cab, and i'll have P1 and P2 start buttons on the "face" or front panel of each of the control panels...
