Holy crap... where did you find that? Honestly, It looks a little...rickety... to be a factory cab, although IDK. Im really thrown off by that coin door.
At any rate, looks like its gonna take quite a bit of work to fix up. Who knows: you may have some crazy rare cab.

Possible cab for a Pac/Galaxian bootleg?

EDIT: Didn't see that you had two of them. Maybe an operator made em just to put surplus boards in? They both just have a quickly built without a ton of experience feel to them.

Definitly bootleg. Nacmo's cabs were about the same as Midway's, but not 100%, but this is definitly nat Namco.
The Zaccaria is Italian of course, so these two others could very well be Italian bootlegs.Horrible job on the construction though...

Here's some nice pictures of a Namco Galaxian, as you can see it looks very much like the Midway version....in regards to the cab dimensions that is. I'd love to own that one :)

Nice score on the DK and Popeye cabs by the way !!

There are four official variants on that cabinet in the US market.

1 is plywood and usually held Pac-Man or galaxian.

The next is particleboard with slightly different curves and usually held Ms. pac or Galaga.

The next is Rally-X which is the Pac-Man cabinet, but shallower.

The final one is the Class of 81' cabinet which holds Ms. pac and Galaga together. It differs from the particleboard ms. pac cabinets by having a larger monitor, a different coin door and being of overall lower quality construction.

There were also multiple european variants and a few japanese variants, although you are unlikely to ever see a japanese variant, it seems like the only early japanese model arcade games to ever escape japan were cocktails.

Hey Robin ! Yes the Zaccaria cab is pretty much the "standard" Zaccaria cab for a lot of games. See them quite often around here.

The Namco Galaxian cab I linked to was actually built in Italy. So it's not a "real" Namco in the sense that it was built in Japan, but it was licensed. Judging from other pics I've seen (also one in Australia) they are identical however.
My Galaxian (early Midway) is plywood and that wood is still like new....

Well how about that:

Another Non-Shortened URL!!!! (http://cgi.ebay.de/Sehr-gut-erhaltener-Videospielautomat-Galactica-Time_W0QQitemZ230222713111QQihZ013QQcategoryZ34780QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting)

Terrible pictures, but it's definitely the same cab ! For sale in Germany so it's very very likely a Euro cab ! :)

Looks like this one doesn't have those metal parts on the top....

Hi guys,

Thanks for your input  :) Yer they've not had the best of life sad things and they are like an old shed so i'm going to have to be careful when i move them about, I've heard of these new leg levelers that have a coating of some sort on the underneath that makes moving cabs easy as pie but can't find anything about them, be nice to put a set on them for now.
The cabs are held together with coach bolts and them ugly brackets at the top, When i have time i'm gonna see if i can make them more stable, There made from 1/2 inch ply apart from the back two panels and the top panel that are chip board. Are the originals made from 3/4 ply/particle board?

I'm told zac made two diffrent frogger cabs that had diffrent artwork, I have the marquee and cp artwork coming to me in the post so will post a pic when i have it  ;)

One of things i was trying to find out about was do original cab front panels go to the floor or do they have kickplates if that's what there called?

And does the top panel go more at an angel or are they like this one with the bracket screwed in to a added piece of wood on the top panel?

Thanks guys  :)

Hi guys,

I've been looking at these cabs and pondering how i could make them a bit more stable without making more holes for bolts and screws, so what i'm going to do is insted of replacing the back panels with 1/2 inch particle board i'm going to use 3/4 ply seeing that the sides are ply anyway and add an extra panel to the top, This would mean placing the battons at the back in more and adding battons to the top so that i can remove them horrible clamps.
Now here's the part where i ask for some help from you nice boys  ;D i've looked at jakobuds plans but there's no back plan for the panels and i was just wondering if someone would be able to messure the bottom back panel, the back door and the top back panel please, The top panel i think i'm going to need to find an old damaged marquee and top bracket so i can get the panel angle right as i want the flat panel not the one like in jakobuds plan.
If anyone has a damaged marquee and an old rusty bracket and don't mind sending to london i'd be very greatfull as i know a lot of people don't like sending stuff here for some reason  :-[

Thanks guys  :)

Actually, I've found quite a number of US guys here very helpful in sending/forwarding stuff to Europe.

Question on ebay,
Hi do you ship to europe?

Answer,
NO

I think a lot of the times the custom's forms put people off, It's a shame i don't mind send stuff state side or anywhere come to that  :)

Yeah, that's true, but you can ask a fellow forum member to help out in such cases.

My SW is in a deep wintersleep :)

I fired it up recently to test the extra PCB set I scored on e-bay, still works like a charm.

The plans for my garden/arcade/shed are materialising bit by bit. I think work will start in spring. When it's finished I can finally move all the cabs into it and be able to work on them. And play them of course :)

Shaun's is on the JAMMA+ forum right ?
