My monitor died, at least I think it did. It's a Hantarex 28in.
It appears that there is no longer any high voltage on the chassis, and I don't have the knowledge or schematics to troubleshoot.
What makes a monitor cga vga xvga (15, 25, 31)etc. is it just the chassis or does the physical monitor matter as well?
I was thinking of replacing the chassis, would one be able to upgrade a monitor with the purchase of a different chassis?
and where should I look?
Thanks
GD

hantarex are pretty easy to fix and the schems are readily available for download,if you want to go ahead and replace it then i know alva amusements do a chassis that fits
if you want to fix it i am at present working on a monitor repair log on another forum which states the majority of known problems with hantarex polo monitors, its most likely to be a bad solder joint or a bad cap but all depends on the symptoms

In the USA, the R.H. Belam company in New York is the official Hantarex parts & service center.

You can ship the chassis to them for repair or to some of the other folks here like texashotshot and arcadecup.

Thanks much for the info Ken. Greatly apprieciated, half of the frustration is not knowing where to look sometimes.
If you gentlemen were in my position, would you look to fix this, buy a replacement chassis, or go with a new penta-sync monitor (don't tell my wife how much it is) from billabs ( aka Wei-ya)

its a mgc eq/3,i have never worked on one but most of the usual hantarex problems would apply i expect
depends on what you want to do,if you have some monitor knowledge fix it,if not send it for repair
