Title: Celeron 2.2ghz running windows 2000.... Suitable for MAME???
Post by: Steven633 on February 13, 2008, 12:16:19 pm
Can get the above for bargain price.... question is, is it powerful enough for using with MAME?

My cab will run Toaplan's 'Outzone' as its main game, which is a pretty graphic intensive game from 1990. Will it prove too much for the Celeron?? It's a Dell Optiplex GX60, running 256MB RAM.

It depends on what games you want to run, and what version of MAME you want to run them with.

I doubt you'll have any problems with Outzone, even with the latest version of MAME. If you do have problems running it full speed, try it with an older version of MAME (go all the way back to v.55 if you have to).
