I use a GP-WizRX controller that works like a charm under MAME, but when Daphne is running in my GameEX Front End, the blasted Daphne refuses to use any buttons or remaps beyond the 'default' keys (Esc, etc.)
I have remapped these keys, watched them be remapped in the Daphne config screen, even gotten the joystick #1 to work with Daphne.. yet the P1 Credit, End Game, etc controls do not work at all.
Have set up XPadder to force the controls, but that has not helped.
Anyone use a GP controller of some kind that might have some insights? Randy T, where are ya??!!

So is anyone even running Daphne on a Cab? If so, how have you gotten passed the issues of button mapping and that like?

Of course we are running Daphne on our cabs... I use an Ipac4 and have never had an issue with Daphne mapping, so I can't be of any help.

So your I-Pac saw the button maps the first time? And if it did so, did you remap anything at all?

I re-mapped what I needed to within the Daphne Loader.

The problem is that the GPWiz is a joystick, and Daphne support for joysticks is the sux0r. You will need to run Joy2Key, or something similar to get it to work. Since the Ipac is a keyboard controller, that will work fine with Daphne, as well as the Keywiz. However, since you are essentially using a joystick with Daphne (as far as the OS is concerned), you will need to trick it into thinking it's a keyboard, since that's the only full support that Daphne has for a controller...

Daphne has joystick support (as of 1.2), but only the first device. You have to go into "Configure Buttons" to set everything up.
Off on a tangent: This proved a bit of a pain for me as I use the U360's (seen as joysticks, not keypresses). Daphne doesn't see the second joystick, which means my default exit/pause keys had to be accommodated through Joy2Key.
So yeah, you may still have to use Joy2Key any 'ole way.

I figured Joy-2-Key might be the only step out of this mess. The GP issue tends to drive the sucky Daphne support right over the edge.
I will test it this eve.
