I apologize to mods if this thread shouldn't be in this forum.
I used to work for an arcade company and I used to replace/work/adjust monitor boards a ton of times. This may seem like a complete n00b question but I just want to make sure before I set myself to work on this tv.
I purchased a sanyo 30" widescreen crt tv (HT30547) from walmart and the horizontal size is too large (and obviously there aren't any adjustments in the menu's) so I was wondering if I took the back off of this television, will it have horizontal and vertical adjustment knobs just like there are in most monitors? Thanks in advanced

Settings like that are usually only available in the service menu. Find out the keys to press to enter service mode on your TV (google) and you should be able to adjust all kinds of geometry settings with the remote.

tv's can also store critical alignment data that is accessed via service menu.
i strongly advise you to transcribe the data on paper before changing any parameters......
a service menu is not something us tv techs want people messing with. :soapbox:
had plenty of 5 minute jobs becomming a lot more due to customer's messing w/the data :censored:
