Saw that on quick news yesterday but kid was around, not something you'd want a 5 year old to (possibly) see any pics of....but that was awful. Report I read said the surgeons found it hanging by a thread.
Sounds like this is one lucky dude.

Yeah, I remember that. That was his jugular... and he came back to practice in like 3 days. This time is the first carotid injury I can remember, though. I saw some bloody ice pools in my time in hockey as a kid but damn, nothing like the trail this guy left. The worst part about something like that is blood freezes right into the ice and everyone has to stare at it the rest of the game.

They didn't reconvene the game until they got word he was in stable condition at least.
