Seeing that most people here are about the right age to remember and love the old-school arcades, I'm guessing they're the same people who remember and love the fighting fantasy gamebooks by Ian Livingstone and Steve Jackson.
I was cleaning out my garage over the weekend and came across 12 of these works of genius and decided I should give them to one of my nephews to further his education of all things retro. The only problem is, he's only 6 at the moment. So I'm asking you lot, especially the fathers among you, should he get them now? Or should I wait a bit? If so, what age should he be before he wins this prize?
Please also feel free to mention your favourites and such.

Wait a year or two until he's better at the basic math he will need. I gave my sons a box full of Fighting Fantasy and Choose Your Own Adventure books in the fall that were mine as a kid. They didn't really dig them as much as I did - but then again we were brought up on 2600 games and didn't have computers. The bar for them is so much higher than it was for us.
Surprisingly, what they did absolutely love was my old Garfield books. I think I gave them the first 10 Garfield books at the same time and they have completely memorized them. They quote Garfield at each other and draw Pooky and Stretch on their worksheets at school. :laugh2:
