I've tried using the search tool to find my answers. I was unable to find these answers. I apologize if these questions are clearly answered multiple times.
I'm building a MAME cabinet and will be using it for 4 player beat em' ups and fighting games. I'm guessing I will be needing an 8-way Joystick for this.
When connecting an 8-way Joystick to, lets say, a gp-wiz control interface, does that Joystick use 8 ports on that interface or just one?
Also, while I'm at it, what cord do I use to connect the joysticks and buttons to the control interface and where can I find one?
Thanks in advance!

An 8 way, as well as a 4 way both use 4 switches. So each Joystick will need 4 connections each.
One (1) eight way joystick has four switches, and therefor has four wires to connect to the NO plug.

Woah, lightning fast response! Thanks! Sadly, I will need to buy two GP-wiz interfaces now.
How about the wires that connect the buttons and joysticks to the control interface? Anything special about them? Where do I get them?
::EDIT::
Never mind about the wire question. I found my answer. Thanks again for the quick response!

Or one (1) Ipac4, that will handle most 4 player layouts...
