Title: 4 buttons for pinball controls?
Post by: onespriggan on February 04, 2008, 01:04:39 pm
Hello,

I have noticed that many cabinets have 4 buttons (2 on each side) devoted to pinball games.  Is there a reason for this as most of the pinball machines I remember had only one on each side?

thanks

My cabinet has 6 pinball inputs total.  Right nudge, Left Nudge, Center Nudge, Right Flipper, Left Flipper, and plunger (via optical switch).

Several Williams games had the magna-save buttons on the side, where you could save the ball from draining by activating the magnet.  Black Knight comes to mind.  I always thought that was so cool.

They've been used for several different things.  One pin that comes to mind,  johnny mnemonic, the buttons were used to control a glove on the playfield.
