I am going to be replacing the power button on the case of my computer with a pushbutton on the back of my cabinet. I found the wires that run to the motherboard from the power button and I plan to cut them and wire them to the new pushbutton.
Can I have both buttons active? So the new pushbutton and the old power button do the same thing?
I plan to wire from the motherboard and then split to the power button and the new pushbutton - is this feasible? Kind of like a Y-splitter or something... I'm worried about not completing the circuit or something when either button is pressed... see the pic...

Having both buttons active is definitely feasible -- I have them both working on my Dell PC.
Good luck!

Well.. That's just the way I'd do it.
They're both momentary switches on the same - very simple - circuit ..I just can't see any way to harm your machine with that solution.
Oh, wait for another diagnose ..after all, I'm still

OK, thanks guys... I was just wondering if it would work wired up like that. Right now I don't have the PC button hooked up (works great)... but I don't think I'll need it since this is a dedicated arcade machine...
