Title: New Monitor Vertical Issues
Post by: MK3FAN on February 01, 2008, 10:36:00 pm
Just got this brand new tube and chassis, but I think that something happened to it during shipment. The picture is fantastic except for this problem along the right hand vertical side. Anyone know what causes this? Please help. The chassis says "Multitech Games" Model :MG. I got it from 8liners. I have tried to e-mail them but they do not answer e-mails.

if this was an original monitor i would say bad cap(s).

since new unit, try a slight adjustment of the h osc . it shouldn't take much to move image a bit.

I knew it was possibly a bad cap, but do you know which one off hand? Also, Sorry, but I am new to the jargon. What is the osc?

Ok, so i started messing around with the pots and low-and-behold, the "Hor. Hold" was causing the problem. Never would have thought it would be that in a million years, but here is the proof. Thanks for your input QRZ.

sry, i should have specified "h hold"

turning that control will vary the frequency of the horizontal oscilator .

just for "fun" ....
another way to get the frequency close is to remove the sync input and allowing the horiz/vert sections to free run .
then adjust h and v hold controls for pic to roll as slowly as possible .
reconnecting sync at this point should cause immediate sync lock.

tnx for posting your results
