Saw that, so i think they take 3 AAA batteries a piece, better get some rechargeable or your going to end up paying out your rear for batteries.

I have the logitech's for when I travel and they connect vis usb (and are powered via usb as well).  They sound like average computer speakers.  THe Lenovo's looked interesting just because of the bar.  One may work for your setup but I can't say how the quality would be.

This powered stereo speaker system seems like it would be good for a bartop.  Right now, ThinkGeek has the single speaker version only, exciting:

Now if ASUS were to release a 9" touchscreen version of their ultramobile eee pc (and it's rumored that they will), it wouldn't take much to make a VERY portable AC/DC boombox jukebox or a stylish tabletop jukebox.
