Tonight I got my Defender machine up and running that I scored from a coworker 2 weeks ago. I'd never played the arcade game, just the Atari 2600 equivalent- and I am DIGGIN it! I want to clean up the CPO and maybe get some new buttons for her, but am just really enjoying watching her breathe again.
There is nothing like bringing one of these things home in hibernation and bringing them back to life!

That's definitely one hard game to play well, but once you get the hang of it, a lot of fun. Congrats on the great score. So, did you get a good deal on it, since it was from a coworker?

Great to hear another cab it alive!

:applaud: Defender is my favorite.... I've returned 3 from the grave. On each resurrection when they came up for the first time with "Williams electronics presents".... DEFENDER... I got a little giddy.... and I still do on my machine.
Have fun

:( I had to sell mine when I was under a Bit of financial pressure..... Never yet found another one that I could afford. Not even found a dead one.

Nice. Defender is a great game - one that, for some reason, always screams at me I SHOULD HAVE BEEN A VECTOR GAME. I have no idea why.

He actually wanted me to just come get it for free. He was sick of the sight of it after his son decided he wanted no part of it (I think the son is 10).
I couldn't take it for free- so I gave him 50 bucks for it (please nobody throw anything). Still a steal, but that way I could still look him in the eye at work without feeling like I just tagged his daughter.

The above pic is when she first came home a couple of weeks below. There is a little teeny chunk of the front fascia missing on the bottom left, that broke off when I was trying to get the machine out of the guy's garage- I still have the little piece and am going to epoxy it back in place.
I just started cleaning her up yesterday and today, and last night got the marquee lighting bright once again, so I'll try to get some updated pics this weekend.
Great to be around folks who truly appreciate what gem of a find this is! Because my wife sure doesn't!! :D
