Title: 8 Buttons in MAME?
Post by: Misfit138 on May 16, 2003, 11:19:50 pm
Hey guys - I'm a newbie here to mame configuration regarding gamepads. recently got a 8 button gamepad (just cheap generic one) and was wondering if it was possible to use all 8 buttons in mame.... That is six for their usual functions - and #s 7 & 8 for Coin1 and Start1?

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Start a game.

Hit tab on the keyboard.

Choose "Controls All games (or something like that).

Go the line for "coin 1". Press enter, then press joystick button 7.

Go the line for "Start 1". Press enter, then press joystick button 8.

There you go.

Yes, it is possible.

Also, I'd start using ctrlr files and not the in game menus for input.

Are they ever going to add the Analog configurations into the ctrlr files?

What do you mean?  like saving sensitivity?
