I found a gutted sit-down 8-liner cab on Ebay that was local and scored it for $25.00.
This cab is going to be for my sons ;-) (ok really for me), so the height is perfect for them, but is still tall enough that I can play standing up without having to bend.
So far I have it modified for an X-arcade Tankstick for the controller and a 19" CRT for the monitor.
I'm putting in two sets of unused surround speakers...top and bottom so it should sound sweet. The coindoor came out of a Ninento Punch Out.
Right now it's ready for the final coat of paint and assembly.
This is going to be a black X-Arcade themed cab with red t-molding. I've got a few ideas for sideart that I will post later.
Thanks to all the great threads on here that have inspired me to get this thing done.

I like the design of the cabinet. I'd like it more if you integrated the X-arcade into the CP instead of on top of it.

Yea, I have never seen a cab quite like that, if you get a chance, could you give us some rough measurements?
-
I've got an X-Arcade marquee from mamemarquees.
I'll get you some measurements...but I can tell you that width wise it's about 24"

Here's a quick sketch and measurements on the cab.
I don't have to work this weekend, so I'm hoping to get at least the painting finished..hopefully I can get the whole thing put back together and working so the kids will stop buggin on me.

Thank you Jetson, just what I was looking for!
I too, hope to get alot done this weekend. Temp's in the 40s, so I'm pretty excited. Pica vinyl, here I come!
Make sure to take pics, I know it's hard when you are in a hurry, but we appreciate it!

Well I spent the better part of the day on Saturday painting and pretty much all day Sunday reassembling. I still need to buy a sheet of smoked plexi for the bezel and still have a few minor tweaks/fixes but it's at least playable again

Thanks...I know it's nothing fancy and not nearly as cool as a lot of the other builds on here. But since it's my first cab and it's for my kids I wasn't going to put too many extras on it since my kids are experts at breaking things...LOL

Finally got my smoked plexi installed. I think it makes it look a lot more finished.
Hopefully some warm weather will arrive and I can get back to my Dragon's Lair restore.
In the meantime....I'll be inviting over a few friends to try it out.
