Title: Want to add joystick but not enough inputs on my ipac left. What about optipac?
Post by: Otto on January 23, 2008, 02:37:20 pm
I wanted to add a 4-way joystick to compliment my two 8-way joysticks, but I only have the ipac2 board, which only has two open inputs available. On my optipac I have two open spots for additional trackballs or spinners but I don't know if it's possible to connect a joystick to an optipac?
Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Wire the 4-way to the same inputs at your player 1 8-way.

Exactly what CheffoJeffo said   :applaud:    no additional ports required.

You would then be able to use your 8-way and 4-way joystick to go UP/DOWN/LEFT/RIGHT for the same game at the same time but only the 8-way will allow you go into the diagonals.
