Title: My first CP design
Post by: Daniel B. on January 22, 2008, 01:30:34 pm
It's taken quite a bit of time to get this far. I pretty much taught myself photshop to do this. Last time I did any graphics I was using PaintShopPro while it was still owned by JASC. I want to do a button layout similar to a candy cab but I'm not too good with the spacing/exactness of it all. It has been shrunk and resampled to a lower dpi for posting. Actual size is 12.5" x 36"

Looks good! In the image, the golden tee arrows and the instructions look a little small, but I imagine that they are readable in the full sized version, you should be good to go! What does the art for the rest of your cab look like?

at full size at 300dpi, they seem to be legible - I plan to get a b/w on plain paper copy printed at kinkos to use for my guide for the holes, so I guess I'll be able to see for sure at that point. If they aren't big enough, it's more vector work for me :(.

I don't have anything concrete for sideart yet. The cost is pretty prohibitive for me, and it may be one of those things that I end up doing when I get the money together. I plan to mask off some of the black on the side and do some red lines of varying width similar to what is on a pc-10. That should be pretty cheap.

Speaking of cost, I'm considering printing this on glossy paper at kinkos since this will be under the plexi anyway. Anybody have any objections to this?

I did that one my first cab the colours faded really quickly. Wouldnt go down that route again. Personally I would pay the extras and get it printed properly. My art arrived from the printers today and frankly I have stopped smiling since I saw it. Gotta say there's no comparison to a glossy PPaper print under perspex and a good quality vinyl print. Just my £0.02
