Title: Pentranic/Rodo Tron CH-281 problem
Post by: nstg8r on January 21, 2008, 01:59:38 pm
Hi, I'm fairly new to the scene, and am having some problems with an arcade cab monitor. I have a Pentranic CH-281 PCB and 25" monitor driven from ArcadeVGA and video Amp. The problem is that I cannot dial in the screen properly - windows is slanted and shifted, games are rendered the same way.

This is the slant:

This is the PCB:

Is this a problem that is easily fixed by a cap kit? BTW, if anyone knows where to get a kit for this please let me know - I cannot find anyone with it.
Also, I've tried contacting Pentranic for schematics but they suggest I look at the CH-288.

Thanks!

It's a composite sync, is there any way to change it?

btw, thanks for the quick reply!

don't know jack about mame but the picture you posted shows no sync, now either you have two connections on the monitor plug(1 vertical sync and 1 horizontal sync) or you may have one sync connection and a sync switch(hopefully)
i am guessing this happening on the boot screen as well?

Haha, success - grantspain thanks, you were correct. I didn't have the sync connected - I made an assumption that the white wire I connected was the same white wire at the board. Turned out there was a splice made in the loom.

Thanks again
