Title: Pentranic/Rodo Tron CH-281 problem
Post by: nstg8r on January 21, 2008, 01:59:38 pm: Hi, I'm fairly new to the scene, and am having some problems with an arcade cab monitor. I have a Pentranic CH-281 PCB and 25" monitor driven from ArcadeVGA and video Amp. The problem is that I cannot dial in the screen properly - windows is slanted and shifted, games are rendered the same way.

This is the slant:

Is this a problem that is easily fixed by a cap kit? BTW, if anyone knows where to get a kit for this please let me know - I cannot find anyone with it.
Also, I've tried contacting Pentranic for schematics but they suggest I look at the CH-288.

Post by: grantspain on January 21, 2008, 02:29:39 pm: don't know jack about mame but the picture you posted shows no sync,now either you have two connections on the monitor plug(1 vertical sync and 1 horizontal sync) or you may have one sync connection and a sync switch(hopefully)
i am guessing this happening on the boot screen as well?

Haha, success - grantspain thanks, you were correct. I didn't have the sync connected - I made an assumption that the white wire I connected was the same white wire at the board. Turned out there was a splice made in the loom.
