Title: SK Jukebox question
Post by: dmbypsi on January 18, 2008, 07:09:04 pm
1st of all, if this questions already been asked Im sorry. Didnt really look over the boards to good.

Alright, so i found SK Jukebox 4.1 somewhere. Let me tell you, it is an amazing program. Does everything i want. But i have just one complaint.

When i have a bunch of songs queud up, it skips to every other song.
So i dont get to listen to half of my songs. It just skips over them.
Is there a way that it is on some setting and i just dont know?
Just wondering if this happens to anyone else or if its just my computer?
Or if it may be the version of SK that i have.

Please help me out here.
thanks

Jamie

There is a known song skipping bug in version V4, if you read at the Sk-Jukebox Supportforum here on arcade controls, but it should "only" appear in v4, not in v3.

Sad, SalmonKing didden't got that important bug fixed before he leaved the project to get a bugfree version.

Maybe why I cloned the controls to MultiJuke with only few diffecents (etc the GUI)?

Can't really help, but..

"a bunch of songs queued up..."

Never had that problem myself... Though, occasionally, on RANDOM PLAY I have experienced the same "random" skipping of a song or two..

What I've read it's a known & usual bug ...with no remedy :( - DISCONTINUED !!!

IMO: Must have something to do with the MP3 -ID's and/or headers etc. - Check those 1st. ...?

might retagging the collection with a tag & rename to clean up the tags, if it same songs it skip?

But I havent hear the bug problem in v3. so if you dosent need videos, you should try version 3 as well.

Yea, I'm running V3 and no skipping, so I don't think its a tag issue.

Truly a great program.

Do you still have the version 3 installer?

look for the link in the Sk-Jukebox support forums.

There are mirrorers for it:
http://mirrors.arcadecontrols.com/Salmonking/
http://www.skjukebox.info

The are 2 alternativt that should use the same controllers, one of them might updated in "some time", but it was the last one Sk-Jukebox should have inspirated from.

My Own, MultiJuke
Virtual Music Jukebox
And yes, Sk-Jukebox was/still a really great button based application, Even I wrote my own. Why want a nice graphical, if the GUI is done so good and functionel?

I think V3 has an issue where there are some letters missing on the search screen... As for the song skipping it might be linked to a lack of codecs or the version of WMP you have installed i am usure of his engine. Maybe people that have the skipping problem could compare WMP versions. You might also want to try and install the K-LITE codec pack to see if that fixes it up.

Thanks everyone for the help.
I just ended up installing V3 and it works just fine for what i want to do.
Don't really need video support.
